Born and raised in Wellington but my heart belongs to my ancestral home of Te Wairoa. Currently, I am in my 3rd year of studying Environmental Planning: ki te ara taiao Māori. I am active within the Māori student community and am currently co-president of Te Tini o Hakuturi, a group to support Māori Geography and Environmental Planning students.
I am honored to be elected onto the Waikato Students’ Union as a Director. This is an opportunity to work with the other elected members of the Board and give back to the student community and the University that I have gained so much from. As the whakataukī says ‘He rau ringa e oti ai’ – many hands make light work. So, I hope to continue working together to create a University environment that we can be proud of.
Outside of University I work in a Rangatahi Advisory Group for Te Kawai Toro, the Māori Development subcommittee of the J. R. McKenzie Trust which is committed to supporting tāngata whenua led aspirations.
If you see me on campus please don’t be shy and come speak with me. I’m always keen to make new friends and hear new points of views. That’s enough from me, I’m looking forward to continuing to serve my student community for the remainder of this year in this position.

Postgraduate Students’ Association
The PGSA represents all postgraduate interests at the University of Waikato and provides a platform for advocacy and interaction for all postgraduate students from Hamilton and Tauranga campuses. Our goal is to cultivate a solid postgraduate culture on campus. The association serves as a go-between students and the University authority. It also helps to foster cordial relationships among students. PGSA conducted various events, namely Pizza Night (Hamilton campus), D’ Pizza Time (Tauranga campus), Drink and Dream, Bowling Night, and various outdoor activities.
