If your biggest personality trait is that you haven’t downloaded TikTok then you must have more free time than the rest of us, who are still learning to dance to renegade. Spend the free time you have and give these candles a go. They might light up your life or they might not. Who gives a shit.
Materials:
Taper candles
Rolling pin
Heat-proof container
Method:
- Fill a heat-proof container with warm water (if you use boiling water it will simply melt the wax).
- Submerge your candle and leave to soften in the water for 15 to 20 minutes.
- Carefully remove your candle and at this stage it should be soft enough to manipulate. Using a rolling pin (or jam jar) carefully flatten your candle, remembering to leave 2 inches at the bottom unflattened so you can put your candle in a holder once finished.
- Once you’ve flattened it, slowly twist the candle. You need to move quite quickly because the candle will start to harden again. If it does begin to harden before you’ve finished, then place it back in the warm water for a few minutes.
- Lie your candle down flat on a paper towel to harden. Voilà!
