Darts and Crafts – Issue 17
Disco and pot go hand in hand. You can even pot a pot plant in your disco plant pot.
Materials
A small, styrofoam disco ball
Craft knife
Sturdy twine or chain
Potting mix
A plant of your choice
Cup hook or S hook to hang
Method
- Using the craft knife, carve the top portion of the disco ball off – hopefully your disco ball is hollow, if not, you’ll need to scoop all the styrofoam out like a pumpkin, leaving about half an inch of styrofoam to line the planter.
- Using your craft knife, pop a mirror off from either side of the ball a few rows down from the top and stab a hole in each side.
- Thread your chain or sturdy doubled up twine through your holes so your planter can hang.
- Fill your hollow disco ball with potting mix – the styrofoam is plastic so leakage shouldn’t be an issue. Ensure your twine is sturdy enough to hold your now heavy disco ball.
- Plant a trailing plant such as a pothos, heartleaf philodendron or chain of hearts.
- Hang in a sunny window from an S hook or cup hook and enjoy vibez.
