In the capital of Thailand, Bangkok, over 200 same-sex couples took part in a ‘mass wedding,’ following the passing of a law giving same-sex couples full legal, financial, and adoption rights, with another 1574 same-sex couples getting married on the 23rd of January, the day the law went into effect.
With full endorsement from the King and almost unanimous support from Government, Thailand – which has long been known as LGBTQ friendly – is now the first country in Southeast Asia to pass such a law.
