After a particularly upsetting five-game losing streak, the Crusaders have finally turned the page. In a thrilling home game against the Chiefs, the Canterbury side came out victorious with a 37-26 win.
While a joyous occasion for the Crusaders, the Chiefs (18 points) have been knocked down to fourth place as the Blues and Brumbies take second and third, both with 22 points. The Hurricanes remain first with 27 points after an undefeated five-game run. These standings are as of Round 6 of the league.
Bayern Munich Ends Title Race Early
It seems that the disappointing 2-0 loss Munich faced against Dortmund has ended their title race dreams. This will be the first time since the 2011/12 season (where they came second) that Bayern Munich has not won the Bundesliga, signalling an end to their eleven-time champion streak.
Bayern will face Premier League side Arsenal in the first leg of the Champions League quarter finals on Wednesday, 10th April (7:00 am NZST).
Vini Jr Discusses Racism in Football
Real Madrid winger Vinícius Júnior has spoken out about the racism he has faced whilst playing for the LaLiga side. The 23 year old broke down in tears as he explained how he has had to deal with racism in football and how it has impacted him as a player. He said that he “just wants to play football”, and that he has never thought about and will never leave because if he does, he is “giving these racists what they actually want.”
Champions League Predictions
With the first leg of the quarter-finals on the horizon, the race to become the champions of Europe is on the way. On Wednesday, 10th April (7:00 am NZST), current champions Manchester City will face Real Madrid, the most successful club in the competition with fourteen titles.
