Kyoto, Japan

Living in Kyoto as a matcha farmer immersed me in Japan’s traditions. The city blends ancient temples with modern life. Mornings spent harvesting matcha and nights in the Gion district felt like living in two worlds. Watching a geisha perform in a tea house was surreal. Kyoto taught me patience and how the past and present coexist seamlessly.

The city never stops, with its lights illuminating the skyline around the clock. Whether exploring Manhattan or immersing yourself in Queens’ multicultural vibe, New York City embodies the essence of the world. As a Spider-Man fan, walking through Peter Parker’s borough was magical. The chaos of honking taxis and subway performers were intense at first, but soon, I was hooked. Broadway shows, late-night pizza, and Central Park brought balance. New York consumes you, and you can’t help but love it.

Casablanca, Morocco

Casablanca welcomed me with a fusion of old and new, of skyscrapers beside mosques, of souks bursting with colour, and of the Atlantic breeze carrying scents of mint tea and sizzling tagines. In Medina, I wandered past vibrant vendors, spices filling the air. The majestic Hassan II Mosque stood by the sea, and evenings at the Corniche offered peaceful sunsets over coffee.

Florence is a living Renaissance masterpiece. Ponte Vecchio and Michelangelo’s David immersed me in rich culture. Florence pulses with history, making you feel like you’ve stepped into a living painting.

Chengdu, China

It was a city steeped in tea, traditions, and spice. People practiced tai chi, played mahjong, and enjoyed hotpots. Festivals, operas, and tea ceremonies reflected the culture, with tea masters showcasing mesmerising skills. Beyond the flavours, Chengdu had another treasure: its giant pandas. Visiting the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding was a surreal experience, as I watched these gentle creatures laze around, munching on bamboo without any worries. Simply being in their presence instilled a sense of peace.
