I went into this movie thinking they’d seriously fuck up the series, since let’s be real, how many movies can you make before it starts to go downhill? Apparently, five isn’t too many. I left the theatre with two of my best friends, all of us pretending like we hadn’t just bawled our eyes out at an animated movie. But it was beautiful. Buzz and Jessie got their happy ending, we FINALLY got some closure on Emily, and Bonnie made a friend. The army of technologically advanced Buzz Lightyears did confuse me a lot, but hey, no sight is better than watching fifty of those toys riding pink ponies up a hill.
Personally, I think the ending would have been better if they didn’t embrace technology and ended up throwing the IPad out the window or something, but that’s just me.
Also…they had I Knew It, I Knew You in the credits. What can I say, I’m a Swiftie.
