Based on a series of books by Elle Kennedy, Off Campus is Prime’s newest sultry, hockey romance show that is guaranteed to fill the Heated Rivalry-shaped-hole in your heart. The show follows the unexpected romance between music major Hannah Wells and hockey captain Garrett Graham, weaving an entertaining web of friendship, drama, and past trauma around the pair’s budding relationship.
While this is a book-to-screen adaptation, don’t expect it to be a faithful one. The writers have fused almost every book in the series into Season 1, resulting in many missed details and a handful of new plotlines. Key characters have appeared earlier, book 4’s protagonist Tucker has lost his accent, and a nonbinary sibling has been added to the mix. Indeed, some of these changes fall flat, but most of them successfully add to what has become a witty, sexy, fast-paced YA drama.
