No joke for this one. The prevalence of gun violence in America is disgusting, and it is heartbreaking to see young kids swept up in it too. Do your bit, people. Even a small voice is better than a silent one. 

Not-newsmaker of the week:  

Shane Jones, for saying that the India trade deal with NZ is a “butter chicken tsunami”. Wildly racist, and not funny no matter who’s mouth it comes out of. That’s something I’d hear a privileged white boy say at dinner, not a very public political figure.   

Pakuranga bakery brings horse meat pies back to their shelves: 

I get that they’re meat, just like cows and shit, but it feels as though this crosses some sort of ethical line somewhere. Please tell me I’m not alone on this one.
