After a six volume graphic novel series, one novella, and three series of a Netflix show, Heartstopper came to a close with a feature length film Heartstopper Forever. These loved characters ended their highschool chapters, and it was clear the actors were dying to do so.
The actors have been linked to said teen drama for their early adulthood and sadly it showed how over it they were. If you’re a fan of the show or the books, you’re going to love the story but man, it was disappointing to see how little the actors cared.
I think the creators matured the show a whole lot for the film – in a positive way – Nick and Charlie had more moments of intimacy than we previously hadn’t seen, and they also argued like a normal couple for the first time.
I have no notes on the story, just wished the cast could’ve slayed as hard as they had during the show.
