After more than a decade since the last film in the world of Legally Blonde, we return with a 1990’s prequel, known as Elle. The show is a comedy-drama, about a 16 year old Elle dealing with her first fish-out-of-water scenario as her family moves from Los Angeles to Seattle. Elle is not well received by her new schoolmates due to her peppy attitude. Over the show, she becomes involved in a mystery while making mistakes along the way and of course discovering who she really is. On its own, Elle is honestly a very good show. Lexi Minetree is a perfect actress for Elle, nailing Reese Witherspoon’s mannerisms while still making the character feel fresh. There are elements of the show that do feel like they negate what happens in the original film, so depending on how much you care about continuity you may want to think of it as an alternate universe to Legally Blonde.
