Alongside a brand-new pilot episode, Adults made a grand return with season 2. I went in with so many questions: what’s happening with Paul Baker and Issa, are Anton and Paul Baker together now, will Billie ever get a job?
This season wasted no time getting back into it. Issa uncomfortably watches all the micro expressions between Anton and Paul Baker, Billie is still an unemployed mess and Samir, is well, doing whatever he’s doing. We get all that and more with cameos from Jake Shane, Raven Simone, and Julia Fox returning taking the show that extra little mile.
While the first season had the novelty of watching five friends navigate adulthood for the first time, this season feels more confident in its characters and comedy. The friendships remain the heart of the show, with plenty of painfully relatable moments about dating, money, sex and figuring out what the hell you’re doing with your life.
