Attack on Titan is an anime that starts off deceptively simple but becomes a true thriller the further you get into it. The story starts off as a story about humanity desperately trying to
survive against man-eating Titans. But as the series progresses, it develops into a much larger story about war, politics, freedom and the cyclical nature of violence.
One of the most memorable things about the show is its world-building. The story constantly introduces new information that changes how you understand what came before, making it genuinely difficult to predict what happens next. The animation is also impressive, especially during action sequences, and the soundtrack makes the story feel even more real.
Attack on Titan can sometimes be confusing, especially with its increasingly complicated politics and mythology. However, I found this made the show even more engaging. If you are looking for a fast-paced thriller which makes no compromises on depth, look no further.
