I fell in love with the moon
the darkness swallowed
a pale silver glow on pink blush cheeks
lay awake
with the stars
where in the week-long nights
there was company
I fell in love with the sun shining on ocean waves
with my feet in the shallows
sinking into the sand
golden blue
at the edge of the earth
where it all fell back
I fell in love with the leaves that draped down
to brush my shoulders
petrichor swimming up from the path
in slow wafts
settling dew between strands of hair
the air reminding my lungs
they love to be alive
I fell in love with the drop in my stomach
where the world fell away
to another place
above the clouds
where my home waited with open arms
and three beds lay
squashed into one
