Charli XCX’s new film The Moment is both a cringe-fest and a beautiful commentary on modern pop music, set to bratty beats we know and love. While the British popstar isn’t the greatest actress of all time, her ability to tap into emotions on a dime is admirable, and within the context of the film, she delivers a beautiful performance. The film is full of celebrity cameos, but don’t expect Kylie Jenner or Rachel Sennott to have starring roles, as most of the big names advertised alongside this project only appear once or twice. While the last thirty minutes of this film had me asking “What the fuck is going on?”, the last five minutes had me going “Oh my god that’s genius, of course!”, so expect a rollercoaster of lime green, rhinestones, and pop music epiphanies when you sit down to see “The Moment”, in cinemas March 5th.
