AC/DC have broken new ground for their New Zealand shows. Instead of complex ticketing hierarchies, AC/DC have devised a “one ticket for all” system.

$160 can see you at the front of the stage or the back of the grounds. Sitting, standing, doesn’t matter: $160 regardless. The initiative behind the idea is the notion that the majority of AC/DC fans would rather stand and mosh than sit and knit.

AC/DC will be playing two shows: one on 28 January in Wellington and one at Western Springs, Auckland on February 4th. Tickets for both shows go on sale tomorrow (Tuesday 28th July) and be quick cause half a million tickets for their Australian shows sold out within 30 minutes!

However, AC/DC isn’t the only big named band coming to New Zealand in recent months. Alice Cooper brings his ‘Theatre of Death’ tour to NZ for one show on Friday 4 September at ASB Theatre in Auckland.

LA rap group the Black Eyed Peas drop in to Auckland on Tuesday 13 October. Pop-punkers Green day play two shows at Vector Arena on Friday 18 and Saturday 20 December. The Rock’s Legal Tender concert which includes The Living End, Airbourne, Shihad, and others come to Waikato Stadium on Friday October 9. And LA rapper The Game performs at Rotorua Sportsdrome on Saturday August 15 – haha.

AC/DC have not yet confirmed their opening act in New Zealand, however, Wolfmother is supporting them through Australia.
