The spite towards Barack Obama has re-appeared. Despite his flawless public image, allegations of an affair between Barack Obama and his former campaign aide, Vera Baker has arisen in the media.
An American news source states that Obama has been conducting an extramarital affair with Baker, following a recent sighting of the pair at a Washington D.C hotel. The only proof this American source has are rumours, an anonymous limo driver, and an alleged security tape.
The couple met during the 2004 elections, when Obama was campaigning to be voted into the US Senate. During this time, Baker worked tirelessly to help Obama raise money in campaign contributions, so he could continue his publicity throughout the election process. Apparently, following months of travelling and fundraising, the pair grew close. However, both parties deny the affair.
An investigation into the affair, supposedly, has been taking place since 2008. However, the rumours were dismissed due to lack of evidence, and any willing ‘witnesses’ refused to speak during the presidential campaigns of 2008. Yet, this has not discouraged anti-Obama voices. These investigators are determined to destroy the public image of President Obama, so much so, that they are offering $1 million to any person who has information or evidence confirming the affair.
Currently, the story is severely flawed. There is no evidence to say when the Washington D.C hotel incident took place, or any information confirming their stay there. Furthermore, Baker has denied the affair on numerous occasions. Overall, if the rumours are true, then this scandal would outshine most recent stories, and Obama would be facing a harsh reception of faithful voters. Furthermore, public trust in famous married men is at an all-time low following the recent scandals of Tiger Woods and Jesse James. However, if it is false, then the American news source will have to explain their alligations very carefully, for they are currently the only news source to publish this story, and the lack of evidence is a disadvantage.
